We should never allow our disappointments take our strengths. It should be a sign that there is something to change, we should discover what and deal with it. I know it may be hard at the moment it happens, but learning on our own mistakes is the best way to learn!

I wouldn't worry about it really. A degree is just something to help in looking for a good job. Once you get that job then you just work as hard as you can. Whether you got an 75, 85 or 95 doesn't matter the further in life you go.

Cute blog. Not sure I agree with the "just suck it up & vow to do better next time" ending though. True, one cannot move back in time and fix the 85 to a 97, but just vowing to do better does not help the reader address dealing with disappointment as the title insinuates.

I believe one should reflect on what happened to bring one to the disappointing grade. Where there bad study habits, turning in quizzes late, assignment strength etc. then create a plan to follow to ensure one does not fall back into bad habits. During this reflection time, one can account for the behavior of the instructor, if there is a incongruence with teaching/learning style, was the class time appropriate for student etc. Additionally, choosing better places to study, finding study partners, picking set times to study, and creating affirmation statements to keep oneself on track would be my thoughts on suggestions for dealing with disappointment.

And of course, do not dwell on it. Do move on but with a plan. As we used to say in the Army, once you have a plan you can deviate.

To compliment another post "only practice of perfection makes perfect." Good luck.

We must not give up if we fail. We might not be perfect but we can make perfection out of our disappointments:)
